Spiral Architect - A Sceptic's Universe (2000)

Artist: Spiral Architect
Album: A Sceptic's Universe
Year: 2003
Country: Norway

Style: Technical Progressive Metal

[Transcendeny's Review]:
Someone requested tech prog, so I bring you some of the most technical prog I've ever heard. The band are a quintet from Norway, and this is their only full release to date. The technicality of the album is mindblowing. It's hard to find a band to compare them to, but try to imagine a more technical Cynic with prog metal vocals. The music is simply an aural orgy of Jazzy guitar parts, strange time signatures and some of the best bass work ever. This stuff is pretty heavy going, as the technicality can be a little overpowering if you're not in the mood for it. It's music you have to really sit down and listen to, it's not for having on in the background. Regardless, it's worth a download just to hear some of the most ambitious and technical composition in all of metal.
