Borknagar Discography

Artist: Borknagar
Album: [Discography]
Year: 1996-2006
Country: Norway
Style: Black Metal, Avante-Garde

[
Transcendency's Review]: Borknagar are a progressive/viking metal band hailing from Norway. Their eariler albums have a style far closer to black metal, which they slowly drift away from in their later releases, gradually replacing screeches with more clean vocals, and incorporating more symphonic structures. I just love all they've done, so I'm sharing their entire discography with you.

[DarkEternal's Review]: Personally, Borknagar are easily one of my favorite black metal bands. They have created a truly unique version of the genre. I recommend their album Empiricism especially; I feel that it best represents their overall work and what the band as a whole is capable of. Garm is one of the best and most creative vocalists in the metal world, so do not pass this band up. Also, for those of you who like acoustic albums, definitely check out Origin.

Origin (2006)

[Transcendency's Review]: If you've read through some of my previous entries, you'd know I'm a bit of a Borknagar fan, so it's only natural I post up their latest masterpiece. This is a bit of a change from their previous works. Totally abandoning the black metal elements from previous works, this album is a folk/progressive rock acoustic album. That doesn't mean to say it's a bad thing though, as this album is just incredible. The musicianship is soothing, and creates a nice atmosphere, and this is greatly aided by Vintersorg's awesome vocals. Even if you didn't think acoustic folk was your thing, I urge you to listen to this album, it's worth it.

Yeah, I didn't mean to leave it this long without updating. I'll be adding three more albums today.
